COVID-19 UPDATE
New Lockdown declared in France as of Friday 30th October

We are now in a new lockdown period in France.

If this means you can no longer come and visit properties with us in person, you can rest assured that we are continuing to work for you. We are doing the following:

  • Updating and adding new properties on our website
  • Exchanging emails and calls with buyers and vendors
  • Putting together property lists, sending you available information and material on your preferred properties
  • Accompanying you on live virtual tours
  • Taking on new sales mandates
  • Carrying out virtual signing using an e-signing facility for all legal documents.

The buying process will continue for all the ongoing sales as notaires, banks, administrations and France Property Angels continue to work.

With our best wishes to all our clients from the France Property Angels Team

Behind the Scenes with Our Angel: 8 Months in the Alps with Milly Mannering

At France Property Angels, we know that finding a dream home is about more than just four walls—it’s about the people who help you get there. Milly Mannering has been a part of our team for eight months now, bringing her energy and dedication to the Les Gets and Morzine area. We caught up with her to see what life is like on the ground in the French Alps.

How have you found your first 8 months in estate agency?

It’s been brilliant — really full-on, but in the best way. I didn’t realise just how varied the job would be. Every day is different, and I’ve learned a lot very quickly.

What’s been your proudest moment or biggest highlight since joining the team?

I have really enjoyed getting to know and building good relationships with our partner agencies.  It is so important for our business and working well together is vital in making a sale run smoothly from start to finish.

What have you enjoyed learning the most?

I have really enjoyed learning how to do valuations - getting into market research, looking at comparable properties, understanding trends and really getting to know each area in detail.  I also enjoy the conversations with vendors, getting to know their story and the history of their property - it’s a really important part of the job.

What has been your biggest challenge so far?

We work with several of the local agencies which means that I have access to a huge amount of properties to show to our clients.  In the beginning, it was a real challenge getting to know all of the different properties and where they were located!

What is always in your car when you are doing viewings?

Snacks!!  You never now how long viewings are going to take so I always have some biscuits or pastries from the boulangerie on hand to keep everyone’s strength up!

What is the most unusual property feature you’ve seen?

Not a feature as such, but I once went into a chalet in Les Gets that felt like stepping straight back into the 1970s — it was like a proper time capsule. It had flowery wallpaper everywhere and even avocado green bathrooms, completely untouched! I was born in the 70s, so I loved it — I wouldn’t change a thing!

What’s one thing people don’t realise about estate agency?

How much coordination and problem-solving happens behind the scenes before, during and after an offer has been accepted — it’s never just about showing properties.

Give us three words to describe your approach with clients?

Attentive, Proactive, Approchable and Honest (sorry, I can’t count ÃƒÂƒÃ‚°Ã‚ŸÂ˜ÂŠ)

Tell us something that has surprised you about being an estate agent?

I didn’t realise how emotional it can be. People can really open up to you throughout the buying or selling process and share quite personal parts of their lives, and you end up feeling quite involved in their journey. There have definitely been tears at times — usually happy ones — which I didn’t expect when I started, but it makes the job feel very real and quite special.

Finally, what are you most looking forward to over the next year?

I really enjoy the people side of the job, so I’m looking forward to meeting more clients, helping them find their dream property or successfully sell their home, and continuing to build those relationships. I also love discovering new properties and matching them to the right clients, so I’m excited to see what will be coming onto the market and to keep developing my knowledge of the area.

If you are thinking about buying or selling a property in the Les Gets/Morzine area, Milly would be delighted to hear from you. Whether you are looking for your next home or considering putting your property on the market, she is always happy to help and guide clients through the process.
