Christmas Markets in Southern France & the Alps: Your 2025 Guide

If you love twinkling lights, mulled wine, artisan gifts and festive magic, Christmas in France is an absolute treat. From the Mediterranean coast to the snowy Alps, each market has its own charm, flavours and traditions.

This is your guide to the best Christmas markets in 2025, featuring Béziers, Aveyron, Narbonne, Montpellier, Nîmes, Avignon, Arles — and the cosy Alpine villages of Morzine and Les Gets.

Béziers Christmas Market

23 November 2025 → 5 January 2026
Allées Paul-Riquet & Place Jean-Jaurès

Béziers offers two main festive areas:

The Gourmet Christmas Market – Allées Paul-Riquet
Among 34 wooden chalets, you’ll find mulled wine, raclette, waffles, crêpes, nougat, jams, candied fruit, maple syrup, and a range of handmade crafts such as jewellery, candles, ceramics, Christmas jumpers and cashmere accessories.
Throughout December, concerts, bandas, peñas and games including the wheel of fortune bring the market to life.

The Musical Fountain – Place Jean-Jaurès
A highlight of Béziers’ celebrations. The fountain hosts a show of dancing lights timed to Christmas classics, from traditional songs to modern festive medleys.
There is also a special New Year’s Eve performance.

Lanejoul Christmas Market

Sunday, 7 December 2025
A small traditional market perfect for local crafts, treats and a welcoming village atmosphere.

Villeneuve (Aveyron) Christmas Market

Sunday, 30 November 2025 – 9:30 to 18:30

Set in the centre of the village, this charming market includes chalets, a carousel, festive stalls and plenty of local flavours.
A favourite moment is Santa descending from the church and throwing sweets to the children — a delightfully local tradition. You even have photos and videos from past years.

Morzine & Les Gets Christmas Markets

Narbonne transforms into a festive playground with a fairground, sound-and-light shows, ice rink, Santa’s letterbox, Santa photo opportunities, a unicorn carousel and lively mascot parades.
A wonderful destination for families.
