Geneva airport to benefit from new terminal
Category: > | 02nd Aug, 2011
Geneva airport has already undergone a number of improvements over the past couple of years; nicer restaurants, more shops, a bigger departures lounge, improved check-in facilities, etc. Apparently the makeover is not to stop there though... A large project is in the pipeline that will involve demolishing the orginal terminal that was built in the 1970's. A new 40,000m² terminal will be built in its place, with the capacity to accommodate jumbo jets as well as smaller planes. The project will be designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners in association with Swiss architecture practice Jacques Bugna Architecture Workshop. Work is expected to begin sometime in 2012 and be completed by 2015. For the latest updates on the new development please visit the Geneva Airport website.
