Learning French in real life situations…with shop keepers committed to your development!

This winter the Alpine French School launched an amazing new way to practice your French language skills in a way that doesn’t leave you red faced and running for the shop door.cafe in Morzine

Their ‘Friendly French’ scheme gives language students in Morzine the chance to practice French in a real life situations where everyone wants you to do well. They have done this by creating ‘learning partnerships’ with local businesses such as bars, shops, hairdressers, accommodation and transport providers. Language students of the Alpine French Ski School are now given a small card, small enough to fit in a purse or wallet. This card is presented to the partnering shop or business. Once the shop/business owner sees the card, they will understand that they need to speak back to the students in French, be patient, and speak clearly.

“We decided to launch the Friendly French Scheme as many of our students were finding it hard to practice their French with locals. The local French business owners are thrilled with the scheme and to find out that there are many people wishing to learn their language and they are very keen to encourage, and get to know our students and give them the opportunity to practice”.

This is a free service to anyone taking French lessons with Alpine French School and the project is fully supported by the Office de Tourisme and the Mairie of Morzine.

For more information, and to see which Morzine businesses are part of the Friendly French Scheme get in touch with Alpine French School via their website.
